Appeal Granted!

We thought it would be a good time for some GOOD NEWS for a change! We learned this past week that our appeal has been granted! A big THANK YOU to everyone who prayed for us, as someone recently said, "The Sovereign Lord has answered!".

We also have changed our plans in light of the corona virus. We are planning to fly out of TZ on Saturday 28th, through Dubai, JFK, then RDU. We appreciate your prayers as we try to return, even though we are coming back in the midst of a crisis. We are really looking forward to getting back to see family and friends. We are hoping and praying that the flights will not be cancelled! As of today, everything is still on schedule.

Tuesday, the TZ government announced that all schools are closed for one month as the first case of the virus was discovered in the country. We now have 3 cases here, and already people are in a panic. The next day after the announcement, here in Kigoma I saw many people wearing masks and gloves in town! Later in the day on my way to the meeting at the chapel, as I passed through the market, people were staring at me, keeping their distance, and some even called me "Corona". They didn't know if I just arrived in Kigoma from Europe or the US, so they are afraid of all foreigners right now.

We realize the situation is changing every day and our flights could very possibly be cancelled, but we remain hopeful that we will get through. We are hoping to get out before the borders close and things get much worse. Again, we appreciate your prayers!

We are finding great comfort in His Word and His promises in this time of uncertainty:

"You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways... You have hedged me behind and before and Your hand is laid upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me...If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, Your right hand shall hold me." (Psalm 139)
