Arrival in Africa

After many heart wrenching goodbye’s to family and friends, 3 flights, and a smooth pass through immigration, the Kinlaws are back in TZ on African soil. If we weren’t fully awake when we walked out of the airport from the rigorous flight schedule, we woke up during the taxi drive on the way to the place we are staying!
Just getting here was quite the adventure. First there was the luggage, all fourteen of them! Deciding what goes and what stays, and getting the bags to the right weight (50lbs) is always fun. The best part is when they are all checked in at the airport and we can relax, but once in Dar, there is a mix of stress in finding and retrieving them from the conveyer belt, and relief that they actually made it!
It is always a good time to get a picture when we reunite with our luggage after arriving in TZ!

This was the fastest we have ever made it from USA to TZ before. We had a very efficient itenerary with very short layovers which got us to TZ in just under 24 hours. We landed in Dubai (after a 14 hour flight) and our connecting flight to Dar Es Salaam was just starting to board! We hurried (as much as is humanly possible with six sleepy and tired travelers), and after 2 elevators, one more security check point, 2 trams that got us to the right terminal later… we arrived at our gate! Just in time to wait in a long line as we boarded our last flight :)
The joys of flying!

Even though the travel was grueling at times, we had time to reflect on the many special people the Lord has blessed us with, and the difficult goodbyes over the last few days. We couldn’t begin to write all of the “Thank you” notes that were certainly due for all of the generous gifts, meals, and kind gestures showered upon us as we drew closer to leaving. We thank you all, and are reminded that we could not do this without the Lord working through each of you :)

Our last Sunday at NRBC was a special one where we gathered around the auditorium and several prayed over us and our journey/work ahead. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful supportive church family at NRBC ❤️❤️❤️ 😭!

We are thankful for each of you who keep up with us and the work the Lord Jesus has called us to, and most of all for “holding the rope” for us in prayer.
2 Thessalonians 3:1
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is through you.”
