Big Answers

We would like to begin by thanking everyone for your prayers, cards, calls, texts, and visits for my mom (Kittie) and our family during this time. It has been amazing, as I (John) have visited different churches to speak/preach or give a missionary report, to discover how many people are praying for Kittie. Thank you!

The good news is that the chemo has been effective in shrinking some of the tumors and the recent scans showed a visible difference in the liver and bones where it has spread. We are thankful for any and all good news right now!

On top of the stress and strain of Kittie’s cancer journey, her close sister Karen has dementia which has rapidly progressed in the last few months. She does not recognize some of her siblings and even her own daughter. This has been especially hard on the family, and an added trial for Kittie, who would normally be involved in her care, but cannot because of her own sickness. Many tears have been shed, and there will be many more to come.

We are so thankful to be here during this time of trial for our family. We do not have definite answers to our questions which we shared in our last blog post, “The Certainty of Uncertainty”, but we know that we are right where the Lord wants us to be right now. How long we will be here, what will happen with Kittie’s cancer journey, and when we will build a camp in TZ are questions that we really don’t need answers to right now. When we do, thankfully the Lord will show us. :)

The Big Answers are not to our little questions about the temporary, but to the big questions about the eternal. Every thinking human has these questions tucked away in the back of their minds.

Questions like:

Where did everything come from?

Why am I here?

Why is there suffering in the world?

What happens when we die?

(…and many more)

It is in times of trials like these that knowing the answers to these Big Questions changes everything. There is such peace and stability that comes from knowing. God wants everyone to know the truth and understand their origin, purpose, and ultimate destiny.

To put it simply, Jesus is the key who unlocks the Bible, and He answers all of these Big Questions and many more. Everyone must begin with Jesus.

Most assuredly I (Jesus) say to you, whoever believes in Me

has everlasting life.

We will continue to keep everyone updated on the progress of Kittie’s cancer journey as we have news. The work in TZ is continuing on well, and we are thankful for Gerald’s faithful service to the Lord. John is planning on making a trip to TZ this fall to encourage Gerald and check on the work there. We thank you all for your prayers and support during this time!

With love,

The Kinlaws ❤️

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
