God is Working (Pt.2)

We are encouraged at the different ways the Lord is working in Kigoma/Ujiji, and in us as well! We appreciate so much your prayers and interest in what is happening here.

For as long as Jennifer can remember, she has had a deep love for babies, and knew the Lord would lead her to work with babies in some way at some point. Perhaps an orphanage at some point? We have prayed together for many years for the Lord to unfold HIS plan regarding this burden.

Wherever we go, if there is a baby there, it usually ends up in her arms, especially on Sundays at church! Elaina and Katie have been greatly influenced by her love for them also.

Through various circumstances that happened here this year regarding babies, the Lord has revealed a large area of need. As Jennifer saw this need, she asked the Lord how she could help babies here in Tanzania! He began to lead her to renew her nurses' license in the US to enable her to use her nursing skills and love for babies to help in the area of labor and delivery here. Perhaps to work in the labor and delivery part of the hospital? In a certain hospital in town, there are approximately 350 babies born each month!

This license renewal involves an online course, followed by clinical hours in a hospital in the US. As we write this, Jennifer is already 1/3 of the way through the course work. She is hoping to be able to do her clinical hours (hospital work in the US) in March or May of 2023, and will return with the girls (Elaina and Katie) to Raleigh, NC for this part of the process. We don't know specifically how the Lord plans on using her nursing license yet, but we know this is the next step! Whatever it is, it would need to be on a part time basis as we still have young children at home. :)

We GREATLY appreciate your prayers for all that this journey will entail. We are excited to see what the Lord does through this, and know without a doubt this is the direction He is leading us in!
