Every new year as we look back, we marvel at the Lord's faithfulness in our lives. He is leading us on, changing us in the process, and heaping blessings upon us along the way.
Truly the Lord is good.
As we start this new year, 2024, we are rejoicing over all the Lord has done regarding Jennifer's nursing journey here in Tanzania. As of the beginning of the year, she was granted her TZ nursing license, her work permit (valid for 2years), and her resident permit!

Jennifer's first day!
This past Monday, January 16, 2024, Jennifer worked her first day in a Tanzanian Hospital in the labor and delivery department where she will be specifically working, and within the first hour took part in her first delivery.

She is working at a German run hospital about an hour away called Matyazo. She will train there a couple days a week, working with a German midwife until she feels comfortable to start at the Baptist hospital here in town. Please pray for her as she learns how to deliver babies in a 3rd world country/hospital. We are so excited for her as she has worked so hard to get here, and she has had this burden for so long!

January 2023, when we moved out to this village church of Kizenga, we were meeting under two mango trees and a tarp. There was no building and only a foundation with a few bricks and lots of grass. It is amazing that one year later inJanuary 2024, the Lord has helped us in many ways including this nice building to meet in.

Over the last 3 weeks we had windows made for the church building. Once they were ready, we painted and installed them ourselves. Building here is very different than in the States, as every window hole was a different size, not square, and we never used a level during installation, haha!

After the windows were in, we put in an order for the door. For the last six years, and possibly longer, this little church has carried the benches up the hill and stored them in a small brick room that belongs to a neighbor before and after every meeting. We didn't realize it until we had the door installed, that we would not have to carry those benches up that hill anymore :-)

Although we still have much more work to do on the building, we are so thankful to have a roof over our heads, windows, and a door that locks! We were so thankful this past Sunday as we gathered together, and we pray that in a similar way, the Lord is also working in us!
Below was our children's meeting and adult meeting from this past Sunday.

In Ujiji, the maktaba continues to be a fruitful work among that Muslim community. The first week of the year we made some repairs to a small bridge in front of the Maktaba. it turned out really nice, and is much safer than the last one as motorcycles cross it from time to time!

For most of last year, it was very hard to get materials, such as Gideon New Testaments and Injili's (NT in Arabic and Swahili). We thank the Lord that at the beginning of the year we were able to get 10 boxes of Gideons, and hope to get more!

One aspect of our ministry here in the Maktaba is that we try to equip local evangelists and workers who are in the "fields", but don't have the means to get tracts and Bibles. As we are able, we supply these workers what we can. It was a joy to provide this brother with tracts and Bibles as he has a Gospel ministry in several schools in the area.

The reading glasses ministry is continuing to bear fruit day by day. Each day two or three come in who need eyeglasses who would not normally come in. Once they find the right reading strength and can see/read clearly, then we send them away with a New Testament and literature on the Gospel.

The Emmaus courses are such a blessing! We continue to have new students and continuing students. I just received a batch of courses from two prisons in our region that need to be graded, and included was a list of names of more prisoners who also want to start these courses!
Praise the Lord!
We thank you ALL for your support and prayers and we hope you have a very happy and fruitful New Year :)
Prayer Requests:
Please pray for Jennifer as she works in the hospital, for the Lord's protection and wisdom as she adjusts to a third world hospital.
Please pray for souls to be saved as we continue weekly outreach in the village of Kizenga.
Please don't give up praying over Camp Nuru and the land situation. The Lord is working, and we are hopeful that this year we can make tremendous progress. Please pray with us!
Please pray for the salvation and spiritual growth of our children.
