Hello everyone! It has been a long time since we updated you on our past ministry events this summer, and also on our plans to return to Tanzania. We are excited to be returning to Kigoma to our various ministries there! We are scheduled to fly out of the US on August 20th, and need LOTS of prayer for the Lord to go before us and remove any and all hindrances. Tanzania is open to foreign travel, and life seems to be back to normal back in Kigoma. We are all excited to be returning very soon!
Before I share with you what we have been doing in the US this summer, I want to show you what the Lord has been doing in Ujiji while we have been gone. Our faithful friend, Gerald, has been keeping things running at the Maktaba (reading room). Books are being checked out and returned regularly, the King of Glory video has been shown each afternoon for lots of children to see and hear the Gospel, and the Emmaus courses are continuing to be turned in for grading! The schools are open also, and Gerald has resumed our systematic teaching of the Bible for these precious children.
Im so looking forward to rejoining Gerald in Ujiji for the various ministries we have going there, and also to regather the street boys and see how they are doing. I'm excited to see what the Lord has been doing in their hearts as we return to our regular Gospel outreach.

While we are really excited to be going back to Tanzania, and to the work the Lord has called us to there, we have been busy here in the US this summer. I had the privilege of preaching in various settings, like this outdoor church meeting, inside a few times, and on zoom multiple times! I enjoyed studying and teaching on the "Miracles of Calvary", David & Goliath, a study on "Phase 2" of the church from Acts 8, had a few testimony meetings, many mission reports, and am finishing up a series on the life of Gideon! Churches in our area have been careful as they reopen, and need much prayer as they continue to navigate in the days ahead. I thank the Lord for these many opportunities.
We drove by car out to Colorado in late July for a family reunion. On the way out there, our family stopped in Kentucky and visited the Ark Encounter, a life size version of Noah's ark. This is an amazing place to visit, and we highly recommend anyone who hasn't been there to consider going. It was eye opening and amazing to walk through the ark!

We thank the Lord for how He moved mountains to get us all back safely in late March as everything was closing down at the beginning of the pandemic. He also protected us and kept us healthy the entire time we were here in the US. Now we look ahead to the upcoming trip back to Tanzania, refreshed and ready to return, and looking to the Lord again for His traveling mercies, His protection, and His provision! He is so good and faithful!
It was so good to see family and friends, even though we were not able to get together with everyone because of the virus. We thank each of you for your prayers and support as we continue to serve the Lord in Kigoma, Tanzania.
I have missed the amazing sunsets over Lake Tanganyika these past few months, but the sunrises here in North Carolina are just as amazing! I just wish I was up to see them every morning - haha! This one I didn't miss, and was so glad I got to see it :)
