Progress!

We have returned to our regular schedules and routines since the recent visit by the team from the US. We just want to say again how much we enjoyed having them out here, and it was such a blessing to us :) As we settled back in to the work and life here, we have such great memories of our time together with our friends.

The work in Ujiji is continuing on well. The certificates in the picture above each represent the completion of 7 Emmaus courses! It's exciting to see these courses being used to disciple many believers here in this area.

In the past few years we have sown a lot of Seed (Gospel/Bibles/Tracts) in these two areas (Ujiji & Kizenga). Other than tracts, we have run out of Gideon NT's and Injili's (NT in Swahili/Arabic). I was reminded that there is a time to sow and a time to reap. We are learning to be patient like the farmer who waits for the former and latter rains. The harvest will come, let's pray for the watering of the Seed and a great harvest :)

The big load of reading glasses the team brought out is being used greatly each week. They have helped so many to be able to see clearer and read. We hope and pray the Lord will reveal Himself to each one and open their spiritual eyes!

The ministry in the schools in Ujiji is also going well. I'm thankful to partner with Gerald in this work. We each take turns teaching at the 2 schools so that each Wednesday we both get to teach each week, one at Karuta and the other at Mbano. Sweet kiddos!

In Kizenga we are so thankful for some progress in the building of the church building. The walls are up and it looks so different after having short walls for so long 🤣.

Here is a "before"

and "after"

You can barely see our little tarp inside the church which seems so small now. We are thankful to have this part of the work done, and now that the rains have come we are looking forward to having the rafters and roof put on soon!

We have about 4 adults and somewhere between 50-70 kids each Sunday! Our Family Bible Hour (above) doesn't look much different than our Sunday School (below)!

After the team left, Sam and I went to spend a weekend with Isaac on his midterm break in Kenya. Jennifer stayed back with the girls and had some girl time together with them. We boys spent the weekend in Nairobi eating KFC and playing basketball :)

No news on the Camp Nuru property yet, but we are praying for the owner to have a change of heart as he is now refusing to sell to a Christian. Spiritual battle for sure! Pray with us for this man to soften his heart and turn to the Lord.

Jennifer is also in a waiting period with her nursing license in TZ. The paperwork process has been taking so long. Praying for wisdom to know what to do and who to talk to.

We thank you for your continued prayers which means more than anything, and for your support which enables us to keep going out here!

A few pictures of signs from a restroom in Kenya 🤣

I guess that has been an issue?

I didn't expect that one for sure!!!
