What’s Next?

We are so thankful as we look back over the past year and see all that the Lord has done. We returned to the USA in April 2021 after hearing that my mom had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. We joined John’s sister Elizabeth, and together we walked with Kittie through her cancer journey. It was a joy to see her turn to the Lord Jesus two weeks before she passed away. Mission Accomplished!

Kittie’s memorial service was beautiful. It was held in the gym at NRBC, and attended by many including family, friends, former coworkers and patients. We celebrated her life with stories that made us laugh and cry, pictures that filled our minds and hearts with memories, and we all sang her favorite hymn together, “Softly and Tenderly”. John closed the service with a clear explanation of the Gospel. We will cherish our memories of Kittie until we see her again in Heaven :)

What is next for our family?

Earlier in Kittie’s cancer journey, we made the decision to commit to staying here in North Carolina for the school year to give our kids some stability. We also had to sign a lease for the apartment we are living in that will end in August. These commitments will keep us here until mid to late July when we will plan to return to Tanzania.

In March 2022 our visas will expire for Tanzania and we will need to start the painful process of renewing. We would appreciate your prayers as we start the paperwork process over the next month. We are praying for favor with the government and no complications!

We are going to be sending out our new prayer cards over the next month. (see below) If you would like one sent to you, please reach out to us with an address and we will gladly send one to you. We covet your prayers as we prepare to return to Tanzania!

John is staying busy with speaking opportunities at various chapels, retreats, and camps over the next several months. If you would like a report on the work we are doing in Tanzania before we go back, please reach out to us via email @

thekinlawclan@gmail.com to get that scheduled.

We are so thankful for your support in so many ways over this past year. Although we look forward to returning to Kigoma, Tanzania to our work and calling, we are so thankful for all the Lord has done (so far) since we have been here.

Thank You Lord :)

We did some updates to our website. If you would like to check it out, here is the link:

Revelation 21:4

”And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
