ZOOM ZOOM!

Greetings from Raleigh, North Carolina! It has been a long time since we have updated our blog and thought we should let everyone know that we are alive and well :)

We are enjoying our time here in the U.S., and very thankful to the LORD for keeping us healthy during this global pandemic. It has been so good to reconnect with family and friends. As things begin to reopen here in N.C., we are getting busier and before long it will be time to return to Tanzania! Our time here is going fast, zoom zoom!

I have been very busy since we returned, speaking and preaching at various churches via Zoom over the past two months, and with several more speaking engagements yet to come. It has been fun to share about the challenges and victories we experienced over last two years, and to pause and consider all the Lord has done.

When we first arrived at the end of March, everything was just beginning to shut down because of the virus. Much of my speaking schedule was cancelled including two weeks of camp ministry, but new doors opened as churches began to use the ZOOM format for meeting together. I had the opportunity to preach multiple times over the past two months in South Florida, Georgia, and various churches in N.C. all without leaving our home!

Below are some pictures of some of our "get-togethers" with family and friends. Other than spending time with family, we took a day trip to Mountain Top Youth Camp with some good friends, and also celebrated Katie's 6th birthday! What a blessing this time has been and we are looking forward to more time together this summer before we return to Tanzania.

It has been encouraging to hear that the work in Ujiji is going on well in our absence through my faithful partner, Gerald. Harry Johnson has been visiting the Maktaba once a week to grade Emmaus tests and check in on things there. I was also encouraged to see that four of our students have passed the first section of courses and qualified for their certificates!

The King of Glory film and many books are continuing to be used of the Lord. The Maktaba continues to shine as a bright light in a dark place. We covet your prayers as we continue to sow the Good Seed and look expectantly for a harvest.

We are still planning to return to Tanzania mid August, and are monitoring the situation there regarding the virus. Tanzania has taken a different approach regarding the virus to protect their economy of tourism, declaring victory over the virus, and opening up the country to international travel. They say only 4 cases of covid-19 remain in the country, but have not given an official report on cases since April.

We covet your prayers as we plan and prepare to return. Thank you ALL for your interest and support of us and the Gospel work in Kigoma and Ujiji!

"May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:7

Not quite as amazing as the sunsets in Kigoma, but beautiful in its own way :)
